Ariana García Varela

I began working around photography in 2010 and since that moment my goal has been to introduce diverse perspectives of the world to society that flow inside and outside borders. Though, the most significant part of my job is to make people experience photography through their gaze.

I pursued a curatorial career because of my awareness that our senses are the best tools to understand what is around us. Since my first curatorial practice in Mexico City, I have seen my profession as one of the best pathways to connect and create spaces for dialogue. If we use photography as a language for conversations, we can empower individuals and bring knowledge and understanding of what is happening throughout the world. Photography is a powerful means of expression and communication. Displaying photography in a gallery is thus a gateway for communication.
